We specifically work with small business owners who have the enormous task of purchasing the right type of insurance for their employees and their families. With more than 20,000 customers and several major partnerships including Intuit and Square, we're growing quickly and disrupting this convoluted and confusing industry by making it more transparent and fully accessible to everyone. We got our start in the Y-Combinator incubator, and have been funded by top-tier investors at Polaris Partners, Bessemer Venture Partners, New York Life Ventures and AltaIR Capital. 

Job Summary: 

As a Renewals Broker, you’ll support all aspects of our renewal process that require a brokerage license. You will ensure that small business owners maintain and administer plans that are right for their employees and their families. Your main goal is to support our customers and help eliminate the fear of purchasing and using health insurance. 

**We are currently hiring for a Renewals Broker who can support our customers in Pacific hours. The expected shift will be 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST. **

What you’ll do:

  • Review past contracts and prepare renewal quotations for customers using Salesforce
  • Schedule consultations with our customers to help them find the best plan for their situation
  • Maintain a high level of customer service when our customers are renewing
  • Identify the insurance plans that best suit our customer's needs
  • Able to support small to large clients and work effectively with many accounts per quarter
  • Identify trends and common issues our customers are experiencing
  • Ensure the integrity of client information maintained in the database systems

What you’ll bring:

  • 2+ years of customer service experience 
  • Licensed in health insurance
  • Strong sales and conversion experience
  • Experienced in Google Suite
  • Experienced with MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to articulate verbally and written communication skills with customers
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to manage personal KPIs and conversion goals.
  • Strong ability to be self sufficient, using available resources to problem solve instead of just asking someone to provide the answer.
  • Self-motivated with a knack for being meticulous, accurate, and detail-oriented, while in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong negotiation and follow-up skills
  • Sales experience a plus
  • Small-Group or Individual Insurance experience is a plus
  • Strong “own it” attitude

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $17.00/hour. 

We have a market-based compensation structure. The salary for this position may vary based on a candidate's experience, industry expertise, technical skills, and location. The range provided is just one component of total compensation including, but not limited to bonus eligibility based upon the achievement of performance objectives and company stock options.
