The Position: 

Are you driven by a passion for scientific discovery and a desire to make a tangible impact on human health? We're seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Research Associate to join our in vivo pharmacology team. In this role, you will be pivotal in conducting pharmacokinetic studies that drive our research projects forward, while also contributing to preclinical pharmacodynamic and disease models. Under the guidance of the Director of Pharmacology, your work will directly support the discovery of new drug candidates and advance our understanding of disease mechanisms.  Additionally, as a rapidly growing biotech company, we offer an exciting and collaborative work environment where every team member plays a vital role in our success. 

Your Impact: 

  • Conduct in vivo preclinical pharmacokinetic (PK) studies and contribute to in vivo pharmacodynamic (PD) studies investigating target engagement or efficacy in disease models to support drug candidate discovery 
  • Work closely with Maze’s bioanalytical group and other project team members to assist in coordinating PK/PD studies 
  • Record and analyze data using Microsoft Excel, Word, GraphPad Prism, and specialized laboratory software, ensuring accuracy and clarity 
  • Present results at group and department meetings 

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors degree in biology, pharmacology, or other relevant field is required 
  • At least one year of experience in in vivo pharmacokinetic or pharmacology studies in a pharmaceutical company 
  • High proficiency in rodent dosing via multiple routes of administration  
  • Biological sample collection for pharmacokinetic analysis is essential 
  • Ability to conduct routine in vivo studies with a commitment to high-quality work, and fluency with general biology lab procedures 
  • Capacity to learn and understand new laboratory technologies and techniques, with the flexibility to support high priority tasks or projects 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment  
  • Extremely detail oriented and highly organized, with a strong sense of pride in the quality of your work 
  • Adherence to corporate polices for maintaining electronic lab notebook (ELN) records, working safely in laboratory environment, and ensuring compliance with animal welfare regulations

The expected annual salary range for employees located in the San Francisco Bay Area is $76,000 to $92,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus.  

Maze performs position-based compensation benchmarking to industry market data to ensure we pay competitive wages. Determination of starting salary will depend upon a variety of job-related factors, which may include professional experience, skills, and job location. The expected salary range for this role may be modified in the future.
