About the Role
The Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center at Loyola Medicine is seeking a skilled and detail-orientedResearch Data Analystto support its clinical and translational research efforts. The successful candidate will work with a variety of quantitative and qualitative datasets to manage, analyze, and interpret research data. This role is essential to ensuring data quality, developing analysis protocols, and translating complex data into actionable insights that contribute to reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications. This position will work to support within the Department of Radiation Oncology.The Research Data Analyst position will support building a database to collect information from the Varian Ethos and benign radiation oncology treatments. Grant Funded 18 months assignment.
Here what you'll do:
β’ Manage, clean, and maintain multiple data sources to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
β’ Develop and implement data cleaning and management protocols to support high-quality research outcomes.
β’ Design and build research databases and tools for efficient data entry, storage, and retrieval.
β’ Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using established methodologies.
β’ Utilize statistical software tools (e.g., R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ggplot2) to generate charts, tables, and reports.
β’ Develop and document analysis plans in collaboration with investigators and research staff.
β’ Interpret results and contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, presentations, manuscripts, and grant proposals.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including researchers, clinicians, and administrative staff, to understand project goals and provide data-driven insights.
β’ Support qualitative research efforts as needed, including coding and summarizing data from interviews or focus groups.
β’ Stay informed about best practices in research data management and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, IRB compliance).
Here's what you need:
Minimum Requirements
β’ Minimum: Bachelorβs Degree
β’ Relevant Fields: Public Health, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Medicine, or related disciplines
Experience
β’ Minimum: 1β3 years in a research or data analysis role
β’ Preferred Setting: Healthcare or academic environment
Computer Skills
β’ Required:
β’ Microsoft Office products
β’ Proficiency in statistical analysis software
β’ Experience with data visualization tools

Pay Range: $35.00 - 45.00 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the rangebutmay vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
