RESIDENTIAL PLUMBER JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title:Residential Plumber Location:El Cajon Position Type:Full-Time Reports To:Plumbing Manager / Operations Manager Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Residential Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience performing a wide variety of plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks in residential settings. A commitment to providing excellent customer service, high-quality workmanship, and maintaining safety standards is essential. Key Responsibilities • Problem Analysis: Identify plumbing issues and determine the necessary tools and materials for repair. • Cost Estimation: Prepare written estimates of work costs for customers. • Installation and Repair: Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes, considering the existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring). • Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, etc. • Tool Usage: Utilize a variety of plumbing tools and equipment effectively. • Leak Diagnosis: Identify and repair leaks from unknown sources. • Drain Cleaning: Perform thorough drain cleaning tasks. • Code Adherence: Understand and follow building codes for optimal work procedures. • Documentation: Complete all necessary forms, reports, logs, and records detailing services performed and recommendations made. • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety policies, established procedures, and quality standards. • Diagnose plumbing issues and propose effective solutions to customers. • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of residential plumbing systems. • Install fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, water heaters, and garbage disposals. • Collaborate with homeowners, contractors, and team members to complete projects on time and within budget. • Follow blueprints, building codes, and safety regulations. • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked. • Ensure work areas are clean, safe, and organized upon completion of tasks. • Provide excellent customer service, answering client questions and addressing concerns professionally. • Participate in on-call rotation for emergency service calls, as needed. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship preferred. • Valid plumbing license or certification (state-specific requirements). • Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential plumbing. • Knowledge of local plumbing codes, regulations, and safety procedures. • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Position is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug screen • Willing to learn. Physical Requirements • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and various weather conditions. • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with tankless water heaters, water filtration systems, and modern plumbing technologies. • OSHA safety certification.
