Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Journeyman Solar PV Installation Crew Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a licensed 02 electrician with a deep understanding of residential solar installations, electrical codes, and safety protocols. As a Crew Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing a crew of 2-4 installers, ensuring that all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
·Crew Leadership:Lead and mentor a crew of installers, providing clear direction, training, and support. Foster a positive and safe work environment.
·Installation Management:Oversee all aspects of residential solar PV installations, including roof work, racking, module installation, and electrical wiring.
·Quality Control:Ensure that all installations meet or exceed company standards, manufacturer specifications, and local electrical codes.
·Safety Compliance:Enforce and adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations. Conduct daily safety briefings and site inspections.
·Problem-Solving:Diagnose and resolve technical issues that may arise during the installation process.
·Documentation:Complete all necessary project documentation, including daily reports, safety checklists, and installation photos.
·Customer Interaction:Maintain a professional and positive demeanor when interacting with homeowners, answering questions and addressing concerns.
·Material Management:Ensure the crew has the necessary materials and tools for each job, and that all equipment is well-maintained.
Qualifications:
·Journeyman Electrician License:A valid and current Journeyman Electrician license is required.
·Experience:Minimum of 3 years of experience in residential solar PV installation, with a proven track record of leading a crew.
·Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of residential solar systems, electrical wiring, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
·Certifications:NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification is a strong plus. SolarEdge and Enphase inverter and battery certifications.
Skills:
· Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
· Proficiency with common hand and power tools.
· Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
· Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
· Basic technology skills, primarily with a smartphone.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), climb ladders, and work on roofs for extended periods.
Driving:
· A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Safety:
· OSHA 10 Certification required within 1 month of starting
