As a member of the risk engineering team, you will be responsible for the production of premium through proper risk underwriting and effective distribution of our product. In collaboration with the engineering, design, data, and operations team, you will leverage your industry knowledge and relationships to help develop management liability insurance products that brokers are eager to promote to their clients.
AS RISK ENGINEER YOU WILL:
- Oversee the Renewal business process for all Counterpart renewal accounts within your assigned workflow, providing input on workflow efficiencies and improvements.
- Initiate the renewal workflows, including renewal solicitations, following up for information, underwriting the account, issuing quotes and binding business.
- Look to obtain target renewal retention rates
- Adhere to our high service levels with the renewal book, ensuring that the brokers receive an appropriately high level of attention.
- Provide input on management liability policy forms and applications that will help us achieve a best in class win percentage.
- Execute our go-to-market strategy (messaging, training, materials, etc.) with brokers and other stakeholders that are involved in the management liability insurance purchase funnel.
- Achieve and exceed performance and revenue goals.
- Track, report and forecast opportunities accurately and provide company-wide transparency into performance.
- Represent Counterpart at broker meetings and various industry events.
- Contribute ideas and feedback on our suite of tools and services as a key stakeholder of our product roadmap.
WE LOOK FOR TEAMMATES WHO HAVE:
- A network of brokers, carriers, underwriters, or clients in the management liability insurance space.
- Expertise in various aspects of management liability products (e.g. rating manuals, policy forms, applications and coverage endorsements).
- Ability to successfully engage with brokers to establish long-term, profitable partnerships with brokerages.
- Confidence presenting to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success with high performing sales and account management practices.
- A proven track record of success, achieving and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual targets.
- Enthusiasm for continuous challenges in a high velocity environment.
- Flexibility to travel.
- College Degree with relevant work experience of 4+ years.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:
- Mike Levins, Head of Insurance: Mike previously was the Head of Broker Relations and US MGA Operations at Hiscox. Mike oversaw the Midwest region with ~20 underwriters offering 13 different product lines, the primary lines being management liability, professional liability, and cyber/technology. His extensive insurance career has afforded Mike strong relationships across hundreds of retail and wholesale brokers. Mike received his BS from Marquette University and MBA from Benedictine University.
- Satwik Mysore, Manager, Risk Engineering: After graduating with an actuarial science degree, Satwik has spent most of his career at Travelers, where he built one of the largest and most profitable management liability books by forming strong broker relationships.
- Tanner Hackett, CEO: Having founded two other major startups, including Button and Lazada, Tanner now spends his time focused on mental health through his philanthropy, Openminded.org, in addition to reading, surfing, yoga, and enjoying the outdoors.
