Registered Nurse (RN) – Health Educator Location:Naval Medical Center San Diego, CA & Associated Branch Clinics Schedule:Monday–Friday, 9-hour shifts between 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.(includes a one-hour lunch) Occasional Saturdaysfor Health & Wellness events Empower Health. ERP International is seeking afull-time Registered Nurse (RN) – Health Educatorto support theHealth and Wellness DepartmentatNaval Medical Center San Diego, CA, and its associated branch health clinics. Minimum Qualifications: * Education:Possess a Master’s degree in Nursing, Health Promotion, Education, Community/Public Health or Wellness, or a Health Science related field from an accredited university. * Experience:Possess at least two years of full-time experience as a health educator within the last four years working with Health Promotions and Wellness campaigns to include tobacco/nicotine cessation, diabetes prevention/management, weight management, stress management, sleep psychoeducation, nutrition, exercise, heart health, or disease management/prevention. Lead position requires at leats 4 years experience * Licensure:Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license from any state. Certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator required for CDE position. * Life Support Certifications:AHA or ARC BLS Certification * Security:Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve outcomes, enhance quality of life, and strengthen the health of our military community. Key Responsibilities • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with physicians, pharmacists, and allied healthcare professionals to achieve optimal clinical and cost-effective outcomes. • Perform health assessments, physical exams, and wellness screenings. • Deliver health promotion, disease prevention, and lifestyle counseling programs. • Educate patients and families on chronic condition management and self-care strategies. • Provide individualized and group-based education sessions using motivational interviewing and adult learning techniques. • Administer medications, provide wound care, and monitor treatment progress. • Lead or participate in communityHealth & Wellness events, workshops, and fairs. • Collaborate with command and community programs to align patient health goals. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in MHS GENESIS and other clinical systems. • Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) activities. As the Lead Health Educator (if selected), you’ll also: • Oversee data analysis, population health trends, and program development. • Lead a multidisciplinary team to design and evaluate health education programs. • Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to other health educators and staff. • Serve as a subject matter expert on Health Promotion and Wellness (HPW) initiatives.
