Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards.

Department: Hematology/Oncology

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $74,910 - $109,964 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

Qualifications

Education

Required: RN I/II- Graduate from an approved RN program

Preferred: RN I/II- Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing

Experience

Required:

RN I- 1 year RN experience

RN II- 2+ years RN experience

1+ year of Hematology/Oncology and/or related experience

Preferred: Ambulatory care experience

License(s)

Required: Valid and current Texas RN license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Assoc

Completion of ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Fundamentals of Administration or Certificate

Course within 3 months of employment

Preferred: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification

Special Skills

Required: Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population

Basic computer skills

Experience with EMRs

Preferred: Epic experience

Other

Required: RN I- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred: N/A
