Overview
HarperCollins Christian Publishing is looking for a motivated professional to serve our four major sales channels through the creation of content that supports sell in and ongoing backlist sales for both HarperCollins Christian and HarperCollins Focus titles. The Sales Operations manager will leverage software tools, especially Edelweiss and Canto (DAM), to create customized catalogs, collections of like products and insure that all content is represented in both Edelweiss and Canto for the benefit of our retail business to business customers. This role will not only develop catalogs but orchestrate online and in-person sales conferences, and create communications to sales team members and retailers that are clear, concise, and facilitate the sell in and replenishment initiatives for the company.
This is a hybrid position based out of our Nashville office.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative and robust selling paths for retailers using Edelweiss, Canto(DAM), and Sailthrough (email service).
- Edelweiss and Canto responsibilities:
-Own, Manage and administer Edelweiss for the company.
-Develop training and grant rights to use of Edelweiss and Canto.
-Collaborate with each publishing team to encourage and gain action to include content and assets in Edelweiss and Canto.
-Develop reporting & dashboards to successfully communicate the effectiveness of efforts through Edelweiss and Canto.
- Track down and gain access to assets from publishing teams for utilization by sales team and retailers.
- Partner with each sales channel team to create communications that drive action and new orders for front and backlist titles, especially for smaller accounts.
- Lead sales conference planning and orchestration for 2 online and 1 in-person sales conference.
Qualifications
Knowledge:
Working knowledge of software applications related to database management and metadata tagging. Working knowledge of B2B processes and communication methods.
Work Experience:
Working knowledge of retailer needs and communication styles. Previous experience with content development and content descriptive data.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in advertising, English, communications, marketing, digital media or a related field and proven track record in basic metadata utilization and content development.
Industry Knowledge:
Knowledge of HCCP family of authors is preferred but not required. Working knowledge of retail B2B customers preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in keyword research tools, file formats, Excel/Powerpoint, working knowledge of analytical tools, excellent communications/writing skills, creative thinking and excellent organization skills.
