Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Sales Manager with a strong background in the food industry and fluent proficiency in Japanese and English. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing food-related sales projects from initiation to completion, nurturing client relationships, and driving growth within Japanese-speaking markets and partners. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent cross-cultural communication skills and a proven track record in project-based sales execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute project-based sales strategies in line with company goals for food industry clients.
Manage key accounts and maintain strong relationships with Japanese and international partners.
Lead cross-functional projects, coordinating between sales, operations, logistics, and R&D teams to ensure timely delivery of customized solutions.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Japanese food market and international sector.
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform sales planning.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements in both Japanese and English.
Serve as the main point of contact for Japanese-speaking clients, providing culturally informed support and communication.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and client meetings both domestically and internationally.
Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and progress updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of sales or project management experience in the food industry.
Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English (spoken and written) required.
Experience managing complex projects and long sales cycles.
Strong understanding of food manufacturing, distribution, or ingredient sourcing preferred.
Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships across cultures.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
