What Software & Information Platforms contributes to Cardinal Health

Software and Information Platforms is responsible for technical configuration, design, administration, development, implementation and support of application and information frameworks that Cardinal Health application solutions utilize.

  • Demonstrates and applies technical (not functional) knowledge of software development frameworks and business process configuration systems. Examples include (not limited to) java application servers, integration and information systems, ERP systems, business rules engines, business process management and .et development frameworks.
  • Leverages fluency in technical languages, operating systems, application programming interfaces, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business / functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of infrastructure subcomponents and interoperability including (but not limited to) SAN, network (application routing) and compute platforms.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of system information dependencies and end to end application transaction competency.
  • Maintains platform or system health and availability requirements including HADR testing.
  • Resolves support issues involving production systems.
  • Partners with Enterprise Architecture teams for product selection and product capability roadmaps and information governance processes.
  • Monitors and manages proactive maintenance to application platform environments; documents and manages SOPs for software and information platform systems.
  • Interfaces with business solution teams and partners on operational platform events as well as solution design needs.

Accountabilities in this role

This position is part of SAP Basis team whose objective and responsibility will be to support SAP Landscape and its core functionalities. Apart from day to day support, person will be of part core team to enhance and implement new functionalities of SAP systems that covers wide spectrum of SAP best practices and methodologies to continuously improve operations of our IT business solution.

  • Prepare plans for implementation and ongoing system support Prepare system documentation and training material Providing tier 1 and 2 system administration and infrastructure related support and management for the SAP application services (i.e. Basis, Portal, BI, Netweaver) Daily administration, monitoring, troubleshooting and tuning of a complex SAP environment Responding to and resolving infrastructure-related Incidents and Problems Monitors and evaluates overall system performance and day-to-day system activity on servers Analyzes production and test system Problems, determines causes and takes timely corrective action Works with the Unix Administrator on capacity planning and performance tuning Ensure changes are performed within change control process for the application and architecture Creates and maintains accurate documentation Provides support to the SAP application team during development and implementation Provides support for disaster recovery as required Configuration and set-up of printersSupport solution landscape for projects and production support activities.
  • Able to present and interact with business process owners at Cardinal Health
  • Prepare necessary documentation for configuration, troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of the environment
  • Partners with Enterprise Architecture teams for product selection and product capability roadmaps and information governance processes.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting technical issues reported by end users
  • Provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Collaborate with SAP teams in the areas of development of new functionality or ramp-up initiative

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years experience in related field preferred
  • Skills

    A minimum of 5 years of progressive SAP Basis Administration experience, including experience performing SAP implementations, upgrades and SAP EHP support pack projects is preferred.
  • Experience with SAP ERP/ECC environment Experience with SAP HANA, ECC, S/4HANA, MDG, BW, PO, Portal, SCM/APO, CRM, .preferred.
  • Understanding of SAP ABAP & Java systems environment preferred.
  • Experience with solution manager and OSS Experience with TMS (Transport Mgmt System) modules Knowledge of AIX/DB2 database administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of good system management principles is preferred.
  • General knowledge of other operating systems such as Windows.
