Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Carpenter with experience in the experiential and scenic industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various builds and a keen eye for detail. The Carpenter will be responsible for building and assembling scenic elements including but not limited to wall flats, bars, furniture, props, signage, temporary structures and more.
Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches
• Accurately measure, calculate and cut the required amount of materials for each project, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Safely build wall flats, bars, furniture, props, signage, temporary structures furniture, cabinets, and shelves, and install them as designated, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with safety regulations.
• Finish carpentry, attention to detail and experience with formica/laminates a must!
• Install/Dismantle scenic elements such as walls and set pieces per renderings and/or drawings
• Carpentry skills and quick thinking to make adjustments as needed based on site conditions
• Assist with load/unload trucks at HQ and on-site by hand or with forklift
• Strapping of assets on trucks for transport as needed
• Securing walls/structures etc per engineered plans
• Have a keen eye for details, finishes and symmetry
• Repair surfaces for finishing such as bondo, body work, sanding, priming, etc.
• In-shop labor to assist in all departments (carpentry, metal, electrical, paint, ect)
• Maintenance of supplies and equipment needed for the job and ensure that they are well-maintained and in good working order
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment
• Collaborate with clients or supervisors to ensure satisfaction with the final product
• Work efficiently and effectively to meet production deadlines
Requirements:
• At least 5 years of experience in the scenic/experiential industry
• Knowledge of industry techniques, materials, and tools
• Ability to read and interpret design renderings, photo references and sketches
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required
• Must provide own tools such as impact, drill, tape measure, router and basic hand tools.
• Travel in state/ out of state to be onsite for installations/dismantle
• Flexibility and willingness to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends as needed is a must
• Employees will work in indoor and outdoor environments, often in varying weather conditions. The position may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and with hazardous materials.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
