Description

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer to join the team as a Schedule/Risk Coordinator in our Chantilly, VA office. This position provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. Our program supports the research and development of the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.

The candidate will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and scientist developing and implementing the future space-ground architecture. This position provides Systems Engineering discipline to an organization supporting the research and development of revolutionary space-ground architecture. This position supports the development and execution of program activities acquiring cutting edge capabilities and prototypes.

Specific Duties:

  • Develop, review, coordinate, and integrate group/program schedule inputs for communication and response
  • Perform schedule analysis to identify critical path risks, dependencies, risks
  • Identify gaps between needs and acquisition offices capability delivery to provide inputs to strategic planning
  • Identify office/program strategic, business operations, acquisition, mission operations, and security risks
  • Review risks, mitigation plans, and status across all activities
  • Provide technical support including the review and assessment of artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms, concepts, and prototypes
  • Support Agile SAFe program development processes and activities

Common Duties:

  • Develop 30 & 90 day schedule look ahead reports
  • Identify key program schedule risks
  • Manage monthly risk review board
  • Maintain the risk register
  • Identify and record applicable lessons learned

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Poly
  • Bachelor's degree and 9 years related experience or Master's degree and 7 years related NRO acquisition experience
  • Schedule and risk experience of 5+ years
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional team
  • Effective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and communications skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience building architectural representations to inform management decision making
  • Experience with Agile development practices and SAFe processes
