Scientist, Process Development (Analytical)

Catalent's facility in Bloomington, Indiana, provides a fully integrated and unique model for process development, clinical and commercial mammalian cell culture manufacturing, formulation, parenteral drug manufacturing and packaging under one roof. The award-winning facility provides clinical and commercial bulk drug substance and drug product manufacturing, including liquid and lyophilized vials, and prefilled syringes, along with an array of support services.

A Scientist's primary role is to execute laboratory experiments to support and improve cell culture, purification, and formulation operations.

This position works days; Monday - Friday

The Role

• Develop a thorough understanding of the techniques, processes, and applications of technical knowledge to support process development for manufacturing of both drug substance (DS) and drug product (DP)
• Develop and execute analytical methods (ELISA, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry, Spectroscopic, Biophysical, etc.) for supporting process development activities.
• Leading development work for projects in order to develop robust analytical methods that scale effectively to Quality Control as needed
• Designing, executing and interpreting internal and external client experimental plans including DOE, troubleshooting experiments, and guide Assistant and Associate Scientists with troubleshooting and experimental design
• Supporting method transfer into Quality Control by providing written and oral communication of the methods, training of QC associates, and review and approval of documentation
• Other duties as assigned

The Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline and 6-9 years related experience, OR
• Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3-5 years related experience, OR
• Doctorate Degree in a STEM discipline and 0-2 years related experience
