Security Officer/Receptionist

Position Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, vigilant, and professional Security Officer/Receptionist to join our team at a mental health facility. This dual-role position is critical in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and confidential environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient flow, monitoring facility access, and upholding privacy standards in accordance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities:Reception Duties: • Greet patients and visitors with empathy and professionalism. • Check in patients and verify appointments while maintaining confidentiality. • Manage the waiting area to ensure a calm and orderly environment. • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately. • Coordinate with clinical staff to manage patient flow and minimize wait times. Security Duties: • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to ensure safety and compliance. • Verify identification and authorize access to restricted areas. • Respond to incidents or emergencies calmly and effectively. • Conduct routine security checks and report any safety concerns. • Support de-escalation efforts in collaboration with clinical staff when needed. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security or healthcare administration preferred. • Prior experience in a healthcare, mental health, or security setting is highly desirable. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion. • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards. • Basic computer skills and experience with scheduling or EMR systems.
