Job Description
Prevent unauthorized entry, theft, vandalism, trespassing and other criminal activity. Provide security and safety to employees and others. Patrol assigned area, by vehicle or by foot. Control access at gates, doors, and properties as assigned.
Follow and enforce security regulations, policies, procedures, protocols and programs. Investigate and resolve security related issues. Provide security during special events, meetings, and functions. Perform pedestrian and vehicle traffic direction.
Respond to routine and emergency circumstances and act as necessary. Provide armed response and resolution to critical incidents such as workplace violence, active shooter incidents, bomb threats and other serious security threats. Exercise judgment while carrying out overall responsibilities and other activities as assigned while complying with federal, state and local regulations. Interact with law enforcement, fire service and other first responders.
Follow organizational goals and objectives. May be exposed to heat/cold from external weather conditions. Attend protection force training, drills, and other activities. Adhere to mandatory safety protocols.
Promote a safety environment by reporting safety hazards at assigned location. Work flexible hours and overtime as directed. Must not have been dishonorably discharged from the United States armed services, discharged from the United States armed services under other conditions determined by the commission to be prohibitive, or dismissed from the United States armed services if a commissioned officer in the United States armed services. Complete any other job-related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organizationโs Values.
Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years of related security experience. Successful completion of a fit for duty evaluation. Obtain and maintain valid Level III Texas Private Security Commission.
Maintain certification in CPR, first aid and AED. Competence and proficiency with handgun and assigned control devices. Experience with access control, video management and radio communication systems. Must be physically able to walk all areas of the facilities and grounds, climb stairs and stand for long periods of time.
Must be physically and mentally capable of engaging and/or restraining disruptive or violent individuals. Able to interact professionally with employees, vendors, and visitors. Valid driving license within assigned region, a good driving record and insurability. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may occur.
Good organizational and written skills, a strong ability to multitask, good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels of responsibility within the organization. Working knowledge of MS office programs and other related software.
