Bombay Bicycle Club has been a San Antonio favorite for almost 50 years. We are a family-owned neighborhood bar and grill. We provide a fun and supportive team atmosphere with a small family of staff, many who have been with us for years. We are currently hiring for a VERY Part Time Door Person for our busy weekend nights. MUST HAVE AVAILABILITY from 9:45 PM-2 AM on Thursday and occasional availability for 9:45 PM-2AM on Friday and Saturday evenings. This position offers you a way to start with us and grow with our company. We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Door Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our premises while providing excellent customer service. This position requires a proactive individual who is friendly and helpful and can effectively manage conflicts and respond to emergencies as needed. Must be an effective communicator and a team player. Previous experience is a plus but not required. You would report to the General Manager. Responsibilities: -Timely arrival to work with a clean and professional appearance -Check in with and follow instructions of shift manager -Check ID's to ensure that each patron is old enough to legally enter the bar by checking each guest's identification and ascertaining its authenticity. -Refuse entry to anyone who may be intoxicated -Deal with difficult patrons in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. -Greeting new patrons and thanking customers for their business as they leave. -Communicate with staff if there are any issues observed and maintain order as needed. -Assist staff as needed with set up and tear down duties (returning glassware to bar, taking trash out, etc.) Qualifications for Position: -Experience working with a team -Ability to be assertive and make quick decisions with safety a priority. -Excellent verbal communication skills -Comfortable with multitasking and good organizational skills -Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment -Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time Education/Training/Work Experience Requirements: -High school diploma, or general equivalency diploma (GED) -Ability to learn quickly -1+ years' experience being part of a team -Demonstrated excellent communication skills -English/Spanish bilingual not required but an asset upon arrival Work Schedule: Part time Required availability 9:45 PM to 2:00 AM on Thursday with some availability on Friday and Saturday evenings.
