Senior Accountant

• Prepare journal entries during month end and annual close, on complex and sensitive areas in line with U.S. GAAP
• Support Accounting Manager and CFO in analyzing the data that goes into a financial statements and management reports to make sure it is true and fair.
• Support CFO & Accounting Manager to ensure timely and accurate month-end and annual accounting close.
• Prepare schedules, workpapers and other documentation in support of the annual financial audit, tax returns, and other audits & compliance activities.
• Monitor adherence with internal controls.
• Implement and maintain consistent accounting policies in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Supervise, coach, and develop junior members of staff within the finance department.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g. operations) as necessary to ensure accuracy of information needed for financial statement preparation.
• Support CFO and Accounting Manager with various ad hoc tasks/projects. 
• Other duties as necessary to execute accounting functions and maintain financial system compliance.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements: 

• US Citizen 

• Minimum 4+ Years of accounting experience ideally in public accounting or in a corporate setting 
• Excellent understanding of US GAAP as well as basic auditing principles 
• BS in Accounting (CPA part/fully qualified preferred) 
• Experience with ERP/NetSuite & Paychex (preferred but not required) 
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills 
• Extreme attention to detail 
• Strong team player with good communication skills

• Familiarity with DCAA compliance a plus
