Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and experiencedSenior Accountantto join our finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, managing account reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and assisting in audits and compliance. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A successful applicant will start in August 2025. Primary Responsibilities • Manage the general ledger, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with financial insights and variance analyses • Ensure compliance with GAAP • Assist with annual financial audits, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries • Monitor internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes • Maintain donation register and distribute of donation receipts • Manage and reconcile credit transactions • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules • Assist with regulatory reporting and tax filings (e.g. 990s for nonprofits) • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to support financial and operational objectives Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in corporate / nonprofit environments • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience with grant accounting, fund accounting, or restricted funds • Knowledge of financial compliance and regulatory standards Compensation Salary range: $91,800 - $109,000 Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k), flexible spending account, paid time off, holidays, and school breaks.
