Senior Accountant

Summary

Under limited management supervision, this role completes a variety of complex accounting projects involving the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting and financial reporting procedures, including special projects. Ensures management is provided with relevant, comparable, and accurate data on which to base decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
• Detailed monthly review of assigned Sales Area(s) balance sheet and income statement. This position requires a strong attention to detail.
• Review and reconcile accruals and amortizations on a routine basis.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and journal entries as required.
• Complete accounting activities for month end close.
• Identify areas to streamline and optimize existing processes.
• Support and assist junior members of the accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.
• Assist in aligning and directing financial accounting policies and practices.
• Work closely with business operations, FP&A, auditors, public accountants, and other financial professionals.
• Identify areas of accounting risk and modify or implement controls as necessary to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• High level of experience managing large data sets and financial information in Excel.
• Navigate multiple ERP systems to complete tasks.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

5+ years of related experience and/or training Experience with JDE, Agvance, Power BI, Axiom or SAP preferred
