Job Description
This full-time position will report to the Accounting Manager at Brainlab, Inc and support the VP of Finance and Accounting for one of our recently acquired entities. The day-to-day, weekly, and monthly work will focus on G/L Accounting.
This hybrid role is 4 days in the office and 1 day remote.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for processing all information and performing all required tasks relative to the assigned functions, including journal entries and reconciliations, as well as performing various accounting and administrative tasks.
- Manage the full-cycle general ledger accounting processes.
- Support the month-end close process - prepare work papers, journal entries, and draft financial statements in US GAAP and IFRS for review by the VP of Finance.
- Ensure that balance sheet and income statement accounts are accurately maintained and reconciled.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules.
- Ensure revenue recognition compliance for US GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Establish and maintain models for accurate costs of services related to jobs or projects.
- Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses.
- Report and analyze costs, revenue, productivity, margins, and variances to upper management.
- Assist with preparations of any necessary tax filings.
- Assist with preparations for external and internal audits.
- Oversee and review items for accuracy and corporate policy compliance.
- Prepare proper invoicing documents and cash flow projections.
- Maintain an organized process to guide submissions through the cycle and communicate with internal and external customers, as appropriate.
- Cross-train with other accounting team members to ensure proper support and coverage.
- Perform special projects and other duties as requested/assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting (or equivalent direct experience) necessary.
- Advanced degrees/certifications a plus.
- Deep knowledge of accounting practices and standards (including leases and revenue).
- Experienced with QuickBooks.
- Comfortable working extensively in Microsoft Excel, with data tables, models, validations, etc.
- Superior organizational, teamwork, and time management skills.
- A commitment to quality, with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, customer service, professionalism, and integrity.
- Ability to multi-task and respond to requests in a timely manner.
- Ability to utilize strong interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills.
- Comfortable with deadlines and thrives on achieving continued completion of them.
- Innovative mindset with a "roll up the sleeves" attitude that can work independently.
