Senior Accountant

A leading energy client is partnering with Soni to hire aSenior Accountantfocused on capital and property accounting. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in project accounting and experience supporting large-scale capital initiatives. The position offers a path to leadership, with future oversight of staff and financial reporting functions. Candidates should be comfortable with complex accruals, fixed asset tracking, and collaborating with operations and project management teams. Key Responsibilities: • Manage capital project accounting, including WIP and fixed asset ledgers • Oversee monthly capital accruals and depreciation schedules • Support construction accounting processes, including invoice review, change orders, and progress billing • Coordinate asset capitalization and monitor asset retirement obligations • Track right-of-way leases and land purchases • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to align accounting with project updates • Develop and review monthly capital reports and project-related financials • Assist with internal and external audits and prepare technical memos as needed • Perform reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close Qualifications: • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally with capital or project focus • Experience working with project managers in energy, construction, or infrastructure • Strong skills in fixed asset and capital project accounting • Understanding of joint venture and reimbursable project structures • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; NetSuite experience preferred • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration Preferred Background: • Oil & gas industry exposure • Public accounting or industry experience with large infrastructure or capital projects Compensation:$76,000 - $110,000 Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications. #SONIATX
