Senior Accountant

LHH is partnering with a company in the financial services firm that is looking for a temporary Senior Accountant for the next five months. The main responsibilities of this individual will be reconciliations, month end close, and tax filings. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of progressive accounting experience. This role is for a company in Lynnwood, WA so parking is free and it is a convenient commute for individuals in or north of Seattle. Responsibilities • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). • Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring all deadlines are met and transactions are accurately recorded. • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and accruals. • Oversee and ensure timely completion of daily accounting operations, including journal entries and bank reconciliations. • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and support documentation. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA designation is a plus). • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. • Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation. • Proficient in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
