Senior Accountant

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our real estate/property management team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in financial software. Responsibilities • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. • Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. • Conduct thorough general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records. • Oversee budgeting processes and assist in the preparation of annual budgets. • Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. • Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, for efficient financial management. • Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive strategic initiatives. • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required. Skills • Proficient in debits and credits with a solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping. • Strong experience in general ledger reconciliation and general ledger accounting practices. • Familiarity with various financial software applications and accounting software tools. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. • Experience in budgeting processes and financial forecasting. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
