Senior Accounting Professional for Statutory Accounting Team

We are looking for English speaking experienced Accountant to join our Statutory Department within Regional Accounting Center of IBM .

Your role and responsibilities

• Preparation of financial statements either under International Financial Standards (IFRS) or local country accounting principles
• Responsible to comply with regulatory and external reporting requirements and statutory filing deadlines for IBM legal entities and operations.
• Main responsibilities include decision making on proper accounting treatment communication with external audit team and support to local tax team.
• Technical book-keeping represents minor part of this role.
• Adjustment of US GAAP book to Statutory book understanding of differences between accounting standards & decision making on proper accounting treatment.
• Reporting cycle is concluded with signing of financial statements and subsequent execution of internal controls SOX reconciliations and post process assessment to identify areas of improvements.
• Statutory accountant job role requires communication with various counterparts – external audit firms and internal teams covering diverse regions and many areas of business.
• The role of statutory accounting center in Bratislava is to provide support for IBM entities within Central & Eastern Europe and Middle East and Africa region.

Minimum salary starts at 2.200 EUR per Month.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 3-5 years of audit or accounting experience
• Knowledge of IFRS s an advantage
• Fluent English
• Strong communication skills
• Good team player with ability to work under pressure
• Analytical and logical thinking with ability to make fast and accurate decisions based on available facts
