Senior Analytics Engineer

The Role...

Soho House are looking for an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our data team and enhance our data-platform. This role will develop advanced analytics features into our transformations layer, optimise performance, and work with data engineers to ensure scalability and robustness. The ideal candidate for this role will have proven expertise in developing complex and performant SQL data models, with a deep understanding of dbt Core, dbt Cloud and Snowflake.  The ideal candidate will have experience managing BI reporting tools, such as Tableau and Power BI.

Main Duties...

• Develop advanced and performant SQL transformations in dbt to support complex analytics and reporting needs, ensuring optimised performance in handling large-scale data.
• Set up and manage dbt projects to ensure that the codebase is stable, scalable, and maintainable, adhering to best practices for long-term success.
• Administer and manage dbt Cloud, including scheduling and job monitoring.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to build new data pipelines and ensure that the transformation layer integrates seamlessly with our ingestion layer, enabling end-to-end analytics pipelines.
• Implement and manage data observability processes and tools to monitor and ensure data quality, accuracy, and reliability.
• Administer Tableau Cloud to ensure transformed business data is available and accessible for end-users, managing user access, performance, and data refresh schedules.
• Manage our GitHub repository, ensuring version control best practices, implementation of automated testing workflows, and seamless collaboration between teams.
• Contribute to the development of master data management documentation and coding standards.

What We Are Looking For...

• Expertise in advanced SQL and data modelling techniques using dbt, with a strong emphasis on performant and optimised transformations for complex analytics and reporting.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including familiarity with its SQL dialect and performance tuning features.
• Experience administering dbt Cloud, setting up scalable and maintainable projects, and scheduling workflows.
• Knowledge of data observability tools and processes to monitor data quality and identify anomalies.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with data engineering teams to build new data pipelines and integrate transformation layers seamlessly with ingestion layers.
• Experience managing GitHub repositories, including version control, automated testing workflows, and fostering team collaboration.
• Experience administering Tableau Cloud, ensuring data availability, user access, performance, and refresh schedules.

Preferable Experience -

• Experience administering Tableau Cloud, ensuring data availability through data source design and refresh schedules.
• Proven track record of documenting and implementing master data management practices.
• Experience in the hospitality industry and familiarity with hospitality-specific data and KPIs.
