As Senior Android Engineer with the mobile client team, you will take on some of the most interesting challenges in one or more security areas of intellectual property and fundamental building blocks that form Lookout’s category-defining Personal products. Our team is responsible for implementation and integration of new security features. You could be Lookout's Senior Android Developer with the ability to work remotely if you have strong expertise with the Android mobile industry and if you have good development experience with Kotlin or Java/RxJava.

Responsibilities:

• Work in a team environment to develop and customize new Android application security features and delightful user experiences for consumer applications distributed through the partner channel
• Drive technical leadership for Lookout Android apps for consumer and enterprise
• Design, architect, and develop new features
• Work closely with backend teams, product management, designers, security researchers, and other teams from multiple time zones
• Participate in regular design and code reviews
• Coach junior developers

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field 
• 6+ years of Android mobile industry experience
• Strong expertise in developing web Kotlin, Java/RxJava on Android platform
• Discipline for testing and automation - unit, functional, integration, etc.
• Exceptional architecture, design, communication and coding skills
• Ability to break complex problems down into smaller components that are loosely coupled
• Demonstrated experience owning a feature from requirements analysis through to general availability in the market
• Experience with the google play store deployment process, post deployment monitoring and comfortable performing code reviews for the team spread across multiple time zones

Bonus Points:

• Experience in any of the following - Mobile platforms/SDKs, Security, Networking, Linux OS internals etc
• Experience with iOS platform
• Experience publishing an app to the Google Play Store
• Experience with socket programming using TCP/IP or a network stack (like Wifi, Bluetooth or IOT)
• Demonstrable Experience with the following:
• Full stack development experience
• Dependency injection frameworks (ideally Dagger2)
• Familiarity/usage of the MVP/MVVM design pattern
• TDD (Test Driven Development)
• Discipline for unit testing, CI ,and automation
