Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Senior Animation TD to join our studio to work on Cyberpunk 2 the follow-up to Cyberpunk 2077 and the next major video game in the Cyberpunk franchise. This position will work closely with the Technical Art Director animation team and technical artists to drive development of high-quality animation technology.

Daily Responsibilities

• Design create test and maintain asset rigs.

• Collaborate with character artists the vehicles team and technical animators to solve animation issues and consult on design.

• Develop and maintain motion and deformation systems.

• Research and test new techniques and workflows to improve animation pipelines.

• Write pipeline tools to streamline setup processes.

• Document tools and workflows clearly for team use.

• Coordinate with leads and production to estimate and plan work.

• Contribute to a culture of creativity trust and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a similar position within the movie broadcast or gaming industries (typically 5+ years).

• A portfolio demonstrating strong technical and creative skills.

• Animation and rigging experience in Maya and Motion Builder across diverse asset types including characters vehicles and weapons.

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 and procedural animation system development.

• Experience in tool development and automation using C++ and/or Python.

• Ability to solve complex technical challenges with creativity and strategic thinking.

• Willingness to take initiative share knowledge and contribute to shared project goals.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical topics to varied audiences.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with machine learning systems.

• Experience with Epic’s Metahuman workflow and pipeline.

Estimated pay range for this position: $127 200 - $190 800 CAD annually

At CD PROJEKT RED compensation for our roles in North America are determined based on competitive market data geographic location and individual factors tied to business needs. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Final offers are dependent on job-related factors like experience qualifications and location.
