The Senior Application Architect is responsible for programming on specific application subsets of the company's application portfolio, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.

Location: This is part of Elevance Health hybrid work 2-3 days per month from an Elevance Health Pulse Point. Locations: Atlanta, Mason, Norfolk, or Richmond.

How you will make an impact:

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Owns the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.
  • Performs technical design reviews and code reviews.
  • Coordinates on-call support and ensures effective monitoring of system.
  • Maintains technical development environment.
  • Mentors others and may lead multiple or small to medium sized projects.
  • Facilitates group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
  • Supports vendor evaluation.
  • Responsible for programming on specific application subsets of the company's application portfolio, participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.
  • Partners with business, architecture and infrastructure and oversees all service levels to ensure value delivery.
  • Analyze and classify complex change requests, identify and document possible technical solutions.
  • Works with the IT learning organization to mentor and assist in training initiatives and performs estimates for application functionality enhancements.
  • Proactively works with stakeholders to identify future system opportunities and enhancements.
  • Build strong understanding of various entities in the Enrollment, Billing and Commissions and groom the team members on the same lines.

Required Skills:

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years of experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience in health care industry strongly preferred.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years well versed experience on JAVA, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot and Hibernate
  • 5 years hands on in Spring boot, Spring, MVC framework, AOP, ORM Spring data, Spring batch and Spring schedulers.
  • 3 to 5 years hands on experience in REST API producers & Consumers implementations.
  • Strong hands-on experience Java Persistence API, Log4j
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in SOAP producers & consumers implementations.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience Microservice Architecture.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with software registry service & load balancer implementations
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Eclipse, JIRA, BitBucket and Bamboo.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with automated unit and integration testing using spring JUnit framework
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with AWS/OCP is desired
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Healthcare domain is required
  • 1 to 2 years of Agile experience
  • Should have used build tools like maven, Sonar Qube, Veracode and repo tools like Git
