Job Description
Join our dynamic team as an Architectural Project Manager III for major airport capital improvement projects at San Diego International Airport. This is a multi-year opportunity with a leading civil engineering and construction management firm specializing in public works projects throughout Southern California.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage small to medium-sized design-bid-build projects from inception to completion
• Ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations
• Develop project bid packages and manage scope to meet project goals
• Participate in design evolution, plan reviews, and stakeholder coordination
• Develop and implement risk management plans and project management plans (PMP)
• Negotiate scope changes with contractors and may participate in regulatory negotiations
• Mentor staff to develop project management skills and capabilities
• Collaborate with construction management teams during construction phases
• Monitor project progress and report on milestones, costs, and schedules
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• Licensed Architect (California license preferred)
• 8+ years of project management experience
• Extensive experience with Design-Bid-Build delivery method
• Experience preparing final design documents and bid packages for multi-discipline public agency projects
• Proven management capabilities and excellent communication skills
• Valid California Class C driver's license
• Ability to pass TSA background check and drug/alcohol screening
Preferred Qualifications
• Aviation/airport project experience
• Previous project management experience on similar public works projects
• Knowledge of current technology applications in project management
