Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Architectural Project Manager III for major airport capital improvement projects at San Diego International Airport. This is a multi-year opportunity with a leading civil engineering and construction management firm specializing in public works projects throughout Southern California. Key Responsibilities • Manage small to medium-sized design-bid-build projects from inception to completion • Ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations • Develop project bid packages and manage scope to meet project goals • Participate in design evolution, plan reviews, and stakeholder coordination • Develop and implement risk management plans and project management plans (PMP) • Negotiate scope changes with contractors and may participate in regulatory negotiations • Mentor staff to develop project management skills and capabilities • Collaborate with construction management teams during construction phases • Monitor project progress and report on milestones, costs, and schedules Required Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience • Licensed Architect (California license preferred) • 8+ years of project management experience • Extensive experience with Design-Bid-Build delivery method • Experience preparing final design documents and bid packages for multi-discipline public agency projects • Proven management capabilities and excellent communication skills • Valid California Class C driver's license • Ability to pass TSA background check and drug/alcohol screening Preferred Qualifications • Aviation/airport project experience • Previous project management experience on similar public works projects • Knowledge of current technology applications in project management What We Offer • Competitive hourly compensation • Opportunity to work on high-profile airport infrastructure projects • Professional development and mentoring opportunities • Work with a respected team on projects that impact millions of travelers Work Environment This position requires working at San Diego International Airport and involves collaboration with various stakeholders including airport operations, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
