We’re seeking an experienced Senior Asset Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team in Trevose, PA and play a key role in our financial operations. This position is onsite, 5 days in office (Trevose, PA) and reporting to the Accounting Manager.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a motivated Senior Asset Cost Accountant to join the team to support the accounting department. The role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting capital expenditure planning. The role will work closely with accounting and operations to ensure inventory and fixed assets are accurately reported and recorded.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Assist in the month-end close process, including journal entries related to inventory and fixed assets, including capital projects (CIP) and tracking of advance deposits.
• Maintain and manage the fixed asset sub-ledger, ensuring all depreciation, acquisitions, and disposals are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Review purchase price variances among marketing materials and equipment inventory.
• Recommend changes to standard costs, ensuring alignment with operational processes and actual cost drivers.
• Support physical inventory counts of product and equipment inventory and help resolve discrepancies between the system and physical counts among all depot locations.
• Build ongoing relationships with the various Regional and Depot Managers.
• Analyze system data around purchases, receipts, and transfers to ensure accuracy of pricing and quantity on hand.
• Assist with capital budgeting and forecasting by providing updated data to support analysis.
• Recommend and assist with implementing process improvements around inventory and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with company capitalization policies and applicable accounting standards (GAAP).
• Assist with the external audit in focus areas surrounding both inventory and fixed assets.
• Ad hoc reports as needed by management or private equity firm.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing/distribution industry.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software; SAP Business One experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strategic thinking abilities and the capacity to function in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
