Senior Automation Engineer

The position is responsible for designing and developing healthcare automation and tools and executing the automation. As a member of a local scrum team, design, implement and test new functionality for PowerShare.
The candidate should be proficient at developing test strategies and plans and estimating scope of work and test efforts. The candidate should have proven QA best practices understanding and skills, including automated Web Service test case development and execution, working to test schedules and deadlines, overcoming scheduling conflicts, and communicating test status.
Principal duties and responsibilities

• Define, implement, and execute manual and automated tests for Clinical Language Understanding application services components.
• Actively participate in establishing project plans, estimating work, and monitoring progress against milestones
• Work closely with developers during appropriate stages of projects and participate as a scrum team member on all phases of the scrum process.
• Contributes to product and process improvements and refinement of QA best practices.
• Troubleshoot and analyze application defects.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment
• Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for secure

Education: MSc/BSc Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Minimum years of work experience: 5+
Required Skills:

• Experience testing large scale multi-tier web-based applications
• Experience with Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, Selenium and JMeter.
• Experience writing test plans and test cases for enterprise SaaS solutions
• Strong Web Services testing experience and thorough understanding of Web Services methodologies (SOA, XML, SOAP, REST, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of the HTTP protocol, in particular authentication schemes and session management.
• Experience working on an Agile development team with rapid iterations
• Proficiency with product-relevant testing and process tools
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment and with geographically distributed teams
• Experienced with test automation frameworks and developing automated test cases
• Solid technical aptitude. Must be able to quickly establish credibility with technical community
• Solid communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical issues to engineers and executives.

Preferred Skills:

• Agile development methodologies including SCRUM
• Experience with UI testing frameworks and tools (Selenium a plus)
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, Groovy, Perl, TCL
• Experience with Development tools such as git., Jira, Confluence, qTest
• Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence) and test management tools
