Senior Backend Engineer (PHP)

LastPass is looking for Senior Backend Software Engineer:

You will work in the End User Experience cluster, which is responsible for building the web application for LastPass end users. As a Senior Backend Software Developer you will mainly be responsible for implementing software solutions to support LastPass’s consumer users and the users of the Vault having the best experience possible.

Who will you work with?

• Software Developers and Architects to plan and implement new features of the product, handle bug resolutions, improve and maintain our development environment.
• SDETs (Software Development Engineer in Test) and QA (Quality Assurance) Engineers to ensure together that the implementations delivered are up to the high quality standards of LastPass and its users
• Product Managers to align on the product requirements to be fulfilled
• Release Managers to enable releases going on time with the right scope
• You will be a direct report of your team’s Engineering Manager who will help you improve your engineering skills and reach your career goals

What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

• Implement features in the consumer web application domain of LastPass
• Troubleshoot, debug and support complex internal or customer issues
• Take part in creating, maintaining our development environment
• Document your work precisely
• Being part of a Cross Functional Team (XFT) actively contribute to improving the team’s efficiency with process / way of working enhancement ideas. Take part in implementing these ideas.

What does it take to work at LastPass?

• Professional experience in a commercial software product domain (e.g. SaaS) is preferred
• Experience developing web applications in PHP
• Experience in Web infrastructure, HTTP, REST
• Familiarity with OOP best practices, SOLID, Clean Code
• Experience with design patterns in PHP
• Following and maintaining security best practices
• Basic knowledge of Docker and web security
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with version control, build, and bug tracking systems such as Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Jira
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Its great, but not required

• Frontend development experience with the following technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Basic experience with Angular/React
• Any experience with C# and .NET Core
• Experience with distributed systems
• Experience with software systems that conform to the highest security standards
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art development tools, techniques, and standards related to Containerization and Cloud Native Applications
• Familiarity with cloud services (preferably AWS - EC2, container services, elastic search)
