Job Description

Unternehmensbeschreibung

We are looking for a skilled and experienced (Senior) Backend PHP Developer (m/f/d) to join our MPayment team in a larger Checkout unit onsite in Hamburg or remotely within the EU.

The MPayment team is the cornerstone of SCAYLE and is responsible for integrating various PSPs into our ecosystem to maintain a delightful, error-free, and effective experience for our customers. It is part of the larger Checkout unit that oversees the order placement and processing steps.

As we offer our in-house developed eCommerce infrastructure to online merchants as a licensed product, our main responsibility is to provide excellent Checkout-as-a-Service experience to over 200 online stores in European markets and growing in the UK and North America.

Join us and help ensure that our technology continues to set the industry standard for processing billions of dollars in transactions, supporting the expansion and scalability of our global eCommerce solutions.

What you will do

  • You can take a business problem, translate it into a technical problem, and work with the team to ensure it is properly designed, planned, and delivered

  • Help envision and work hand-in-hand with other colleagues to develop a scalable software architecture for our API written in PHP

  • Embrace modern agile software development methodologies and extreme programming practices such as TDD and pair programming

  • Extensive tech stack: use the right tools for the right tasks without being dogmatic about it

  • Plenty of room for your ideas and creations, flat hierarchies, and very short decision paths

Who you are

  • Hands-on & recent experience with Laravel or Symfony

  • Hands-on experience developing synchronous APIs but nice to have async too

  • Experience working with AWS, TF, MySQL, Redis, or equivalent

  • Expected to take ownership of what you build for e2e, including automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.

  • Self-motivated, responsible, passionate, and eager to learn.

  • Can perform complex technical tasks independently with minimal guidance

  • But a multiplier of team efforts ensures that the results of teamwork are as expected and are technically sound

Nice to have

  • Experience working with high volume, high load environments

  • Experience working with multiple downstream and upstream dependencies

  • Experience with PSP integration

  • Experience designing and testing complex integrations

  • Experience working with multi-tenant SaaS solutions
