We're filling a big need for generative AI built ground-up for the needs of enterprises and embraced by their teams. As generative AI became a board-level initiative almost overnight for most enterprises, our market matured dramatically and we benefit from that tailwind. Writer is deployed widely at leading companies like UnitedHealthcare, Accenture, Intuit, UiPath, HubSpot, Spotify, Hilton, Uber, and Deloitte. We have an NRR of +135% and we're just getting started.

Our inbound funnel is large and growing fast (+3M visitors/month, thousands of weekly ICP trial starts). In late 2021, we received a $21M Series A led by Insight Partners, with participation from Google's Gradient Ventures, GTMFund, and a world-class group of founders, operators, and angels. We're a clear leader in a space receiving significant investor interest, and will be able to make the investments required to maintain that position.

📈 Our operating cadence

• We're a low-meeting (< 4 hours/week for most people) culture, with 1-2 weeks a quarter that are totally meeting-free.

• We've been distributed since day 1, and our distributed processes and rituals are long-engrained.

• There's low overhead, and projects are single-threaded.

• We break down company milestones into quarterly goals and projects, and emphasize by team the one thing that matters the most.

📐 About this role

Writer is looking for a well-rounded and visionary Brand Designer who’s both thoughtful and talented. As the second major design hire, you'll be instrumental in developing our brand and owning multiple projects from events to ads to editorial and more. This is the perfect role for an ambitious designer looking to shape the way Writer shows up in the AI industry. Writer is experiencing a period of high growth as generative AI takes the world by storm. Our team is fully distributed, but we prefer to have some overlap with the Pacific Standard Time zone.

🦸🏻‍♀️ Your responsibilities

• Design market-facing projects related to web, events, editorial, ads, decks, and more

• Work with the Creative Director to establish best practices and culture for a tiny but strong and growing design org

• Work within and expand upon our design systems

• Own projects from concept to final execution

• Collaborate with stakeholders and team members in a highly iterative and agile environment

• Art direct junior designers and contractors 

• Produce video and audio productions with team

⭐️ Is this you?

• 4 years of design experience with a portfolio showcasing a breadth marketing design work

• Experience in web, graphic design, illustration, ads, and decks

• Stellar design sensibilities, from high-level strategic direction to production details

• Outstanding use of typography, iconography, color, and visual communication. (Motion and illustration a plus)

• Fully functional in Figma, Adobe, and Google slides. (Wordpress experience a plus)

• Balance design excellence with sense of urgency and speed

• Ability to communicate with precision, clarity, honesty, and low ego

• A general understanding of business goals and strategy

• A general understanding of marketing metrics

• Ability to present ideas effectively to stakeholders

• Ability to navigate ambiguous projects
