About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to act in the capacity of a strategic business and systems liaison/consultant with internal business lines and vendors to develop and implement technical solutions to business needs. The primary focus of this job will be to facilitate and lead development of strategic plans, both current activities and long-term opportunities, across Bankcard products. The Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise-wide Payments Systems lines of business and function as a technical liaison between members of project teams, including third party vendors, to research and/or implement technology solutions with business initiatives, as well as collaborate and coordinate problem-solving efforts.

Essential Functions

  • Provide operational readiness through support of critical company systems and service providers, supporting multiple lines of business across Lending and Payments Systems
  • Identify and lead changes to enhance team approach to troubleshoot, resolve, apply workarounds, and ultimately apply a quality permanent solution to resolve any technical issue
  • Identify problem trends and provide proactive system solutions to resolve complex problems. Make recommendations for improvement/solution to management
  • Monitor and evaluate system activity and performance, complete quality assurance checks, provide client training, supply ad-hoc reporting through database manipulation, administer change control and facilitates mass maintenance to the systems
  • Identify and document business and testing requirements for defined projects; translate requirements into specifications for technical project members and perform process improvement analysis
  • Assist in supporting risk management tools that work in conjunction with credit card processing systems.
  • Takes a leadership role in project and development meetings by creatively examining system functionality; determining and defining system related tasks or development if required, and ensure all tasks are executed according to plan
  • Help business leaders identify desired outcomes and help develop a prioritized roadmap while gaining alignment across different business units
  • Mentor and motivate team members to manage department workflow with guidance on projects/issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Strong knowledge of mainframe, middleware environment, and web-based processing applications, technical concepts, and terminology
  • Strong knowledge of credit card compliance and regulations preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AQT query tool and Structured Query Language (SQL) "sequel" statements/queries within the various database tools available to produce ad-hoc and recurring reports and data output
  • Strong knowledge of TSYS card processing platform preferred
  • Intermediate understanding of file transfer protocol and practices, and line connectivity configurations preferred, as well as batch interfaces
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to think strategically and provide thought leadership
  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standards exist
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning capabilities and ability to handle multiple tasks, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced environment, and able to adhere to project timeline and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Teams

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • 6+ years system analysis, operations or technical project management related work experience required, preferably in bankcard systems
  • Bankcard operations experience strongly preferred
