Senior Business Services and Tax Associate

Duties • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses. • Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance. • Assist clients with estate planning, wills, trusts, and estate law matters. • Provide guidance on mergers & acquisitions and corporate accounting issues. • Perform audits and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP. • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy in bookkeeping. • Conduct account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations. • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage for financial reporting. • Analyze financial data to provide insights into budgeting and financial planning. • Collaborate with clients on financial sales strategies and asset management. Skills • Strong knowledge of tax accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in accounting software including Quicken, QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage. • Familiarity with SOX compliance, securities law, and regulatory reporting requirements. • Excellent analytical skills for financial report writing and interpretation. • Understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping and debits & credits. • Experience in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus. • Ability to perform technical accounting tasks related to payroll, auditing, and account analysis. • Strong communication skills for client interactions and presentations of financial information. • Financial acumen in investment strategies, private equity, and asset management.
