JOB SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for maturing the Shared Services Support (SSS) testing strategy, which includes automated testing capabilities. This employee will also provide automated testing requirements to, and will collaborate with, developers in the Technology Organization (TO) Center of Excellence. This position will create and maintain test scripts, data sets, and other artifacts to support testing standards. This position will perform manual and automated testing for a defined list of assigned applications / processes including but not limited to Oracle, PowerPlan, and Third-Party applications used by all Southern Company subsidiaries.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Job Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, IT, Accounting, or related discipline is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in the performance of software development lifecycle processes, specifically functional testing, is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with business processes within IBM Maximo or Oracle Cloud is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Working knowledge of Ticentis qTest and Tosca, or similar technologies, for test management and automation is required.
• Data management skills and proven working use of SQL, ie TOAD, SQL Developer, etc. is required.
• Strong requirements review, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies is required.
• Working knowledge of IBM Maximo and/or Oracle Cloud to perform application functional and quality testing is preferred.
• Familiarity with PowerPlan related business processes is desired.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Test Execution:
• Perform user acceptance testing in IBM Maximo, Oracle Cloud (ERP), or Oracle EPM products.
• Perform automated testing using Tricentis Tosca or Microfocus UFT.
• Collaborate with analysts in SSS functional support teams or the TO Center of Excellence to understand requirements for system changes.
• Determine scope and method of testing for various releases, using suite of release management and testing tools used at Southern Company.
• Testing key financial and expenditure controls as required.
• Test Management:
• Translating new business requirements or application changes into test scripts or test plans to ensure proper test coverage.
• Maintain test scripts, data sets, and other artifacts to support testing standards.
• Test Automation Design:
• Provide requirements for new automation development.
• Review deliverables for new automation to ensure the quality of developed tests.
