Job Description

The Senior Category Management Lead will be responsible for leading our category management team and owning the P&L and overall management of all product categories on the Wish marketplace. Your work is highly critical, visible, impactful and strategic to Wish.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead a team of category managers in pre-season category planning and in-season category management - including forecasting, managing, growing, planning for all of Wish’s core product categories. Sample responsibilities include target/forecast setting, the development and execution of seasonal category strategies, category hindsight preparation & analysis, and more
  • Determine the strategy and direction for Wish’s overall assortment and product selection from a category perspective
  • Build and improve foundational and fundamental tools and systems for category management including managing taxonomy, attribution, data monitoring, and more 
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure category specific and verticalized shopping experiences are optimized for each category
  • Build and maintain accurate reporting that reveals actionable, real-time insights
  • Regularly monitor and share out key KPIs and metrics (pricing, inventory, gaps, saturation, volume, etc.) to inform business opportunities and decisions
  • Influence in a global, cross-functional environment, building strong relationships with a range of internal teams including Merchandising, Business Development, Marketing, Data Science, Product, Engineering
  • You are fluent on our key merchant products/categories and are regularly analyzing internal and external opportunities that would drive high performance sales amongst a target audience
  • Regularly build and present plans and project ideas to leadership
  • Demonstrate and expect accountability and high performance
  • Show strong competency in delivering results, deep dives, and ownership
  • Identify, capture and communicate category pain points with leadership

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in relevant internet/ecommerce/tech industry 
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience within home, fashion, beauty, or electronics category management and retail
  • Strong experience in managing taxonomy and assortment in various categories
  • Strong personal presence, demonstrated in a partner/customer facing role; cross border experience a significant plus
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and relentlessly resourceful
  • Excellent project roadmap, timeline, and deadline management 
  • Excellent operational skills and delivery ethic with ability to focus on the job at hand
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree
