What you will do:Ā
As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will focus on designing and building data acquisition and process control systems for chemical processing. These systems will integrate instrumentation, controls, plumbing, fluid power, and solids handling to enable novel electrochemical and metallurgical processes for steel production.Ā
In this role you will:
- Design electrical/electronic systems, fabrication, and commissioning of automated equipment
- Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation, control systems, and electrical equipment at a pilot scale
- Program PLCs and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Specify and source appropriate equipment and instrumentation to meet system design requirements
- Troubleshoot electrochemical systems and perform root cause analysis to improve existing systems
- Autonomously lead projects while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and outside agencies as neededĀ
- Other duties as assignedĀ
What we need you to bring to the team:Ā
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM related field of study; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
- 4+ years experience with PLC programming, including ladder logic and structured text (Siemens preferred)
- Advanced experience with instrumentation such as voltage, amperage, temperature, pressure, level, weight, and flow
- Familiarity with high voltage and low voltage electrical design and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of industrial automation communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet, RS485, etc.
- High level programming experience in Python, Javascript, C/C++, or equivalent
- In depth knowledge of engineering design, concepts, principles, practices, and procedures
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePointĀ

- Master's degree in related field
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency with Siemens S7, Ignition, SolidWorks Electrical, and SQL databasesĀ
Physical requirements:
- Ability to stand/sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to operate the following equipment and tools: Multimeter, OscilloscopeĀ
Compensation:Ā
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education
