We are seeking anexperienced Corporate Controllerto lead and optimize our financial operations across multiple entities in the insurance, real estate, and construction sectors. This is an opportunity to build and manage a high-performing finance team while driving financial strategy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities Financial Strategy & Oversight
β’ Oversee all financial activities, includingbudgeting, forecasting, and financial reportingfor multiple business units.
β’ Develop and implementinternal controls, accounting policies, and financial proceduresto optimize financial efficiency.
β’ Ensurecompliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific financial reporting(e.g., insurance trust accounts, real estate depreciation, construction cost tracking).
Accounting & Reporting
β’ Leadmonth-end and year-end financial close processes, including reconciliations for multiple entities.
β’ Managecash flow, working capital, and debt financingto optimize financial health.
β’ DevelopKPI-driven financial reportsto trackprofitability, cost efficiencies, and revenue growthacross divisions.
β’ Implementautomated accounting systemsto streamline reporting forAMS360 (insurance), Appfolio (real estate), and Buildertrend/QuickBooks (construction).
Billing, Receivables & Payables
β’ Overseecommission tracking, agency bill payments, and direct bill reconciliationsin AMS360.
β’ Develop and refinereal estate property billing cyclesfor tenants, investors, and property management entities.
β’ Streamlineconstruction job cost tracking, subcontractor payments, and project financial audits.
Risk Management & Compliance
β’ Work closely withexternal auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodiesto ensure compliance withinsurance carrier contracts, financial audits, and real estate investor reporting.
β’ Managetrust account reconciliations, policyholder premium tracking, and carrier payables.
β’ Optimizefinancial risk management strategies, includingliability exposure, contract structuring, and tax planning.
Leadership & Team Development
β’ Lead and mentor a team ofaccountants, bookkeepers, and finance professionalsacross all business units.
β’ Buildcross-functional collaborationwithexecutives, sales teams, and operations managersto drive financial efficiencies.
β’ Enhancestaff productivity metrics, linkingfinancial performance with operational KPIs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
β10+ years of financial leadership experienceininsurance, real estate, or construction.
β Deep understanding ofinsurance brokerage accounting (AMS360), real estate portfolio management (Appfolio), and construction job costing (Buildertrend/QuickBooks).
β Strongfinancial modeling, forecasting, and budgetingskills.
β Experience managingtrust accounting, multi-entity reconciliations, and commission structures.
β Advanced proficiency inGAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
β Ability tonegotiate with vendors, carriers, and financial institutionsto optimize cost savings.
β Proven track record ofteam leadership, process automation, and technology implementation.
β CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred.
