Senior Correspondent, Features

Business Insider seeks a full-time Senior Features Correspondent to focus on long-form, narrative-driven articles. They will report to the Deputy Features Editor.

The Role & Team:

This person should feel motivated to produce some of the most-talked-about articles of the year. They can be profiles, reported essays, or investigations about anything from business to sports to tech to true crime — as long as they're compelling, nuanced, timely, and well-reported. These articles will vary in length from 3,000 to 10,000-plus words.

This writer should have considerable experience and must have written long-form journalism in the past. Someone who is comfortable cold calling 30 people is a must; someone with a cache of trusted sources is a plus. This is a position for a seasoned journalist who wants the time and the opportunity to create truly amazing stories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce 8-12 articles a year — a combination of long-form investigations and fast features
• Generate original, actionable ideas that drive conversation and excite our readers 
• Maintain a strong network of sources
• Collaborate with various BI teams including art, legal, copyedit, and fact-check

The ideal candidate has:

• Experience with long-form feature writing 
• Strong organization and communication skills
• The ability to self-motivate and meet deadlines
• A collaborate spirit  

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
