Compensation Range: $68,500-$95,000

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.

Job Purpose

This Senior Cost Accountant reports directly to the Americas, Senior Cost Accounting Manager, and assists with oversight of the Americas Costing activities. This role is responsible for preparing and consolidating manufacturing reports and analysis for supported entities. The accountant collaborates with manufacturing locations and functional areas for analysis and internal reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review, investigate and explain production variances on a routine basis
• Provide support for annual physical inventories and cycle counts, and inventory analysis
• Drive work process improvements to reach goals and support KPI's
• Collecting and analyzing data about a company's operational costs
• Process journal entries
• Performing account reconciliations
• Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
• Developing and analyzing cost standards
• Reviews and compares assigned business' operating profit and loss results to established plans, standard costs, and previous actuals.
• Ability to perform ad hoc financial analysis as needed to support business
• Financial reporting
• Assist with monthly close process
• Assist with budget, forecast, analysis, interdependent projects, and ad hoc requests.
• Prepare analysis on high priority accounts, quarter/year-end packages, and audit requests.
• Identify control weaknesses and suggest process improvements to make sure that effective controls are maintained over the financial accounting and reporting for the region.
• Prepare and/or maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual for assigned responsibilities
• Create detailed process documentation, ensuring accounting implications of processes are clearly understood.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel may be required for special assignments. Estimate: 0-5%.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; CPA Preferred.
• 5+ years experience in Cost Accounting role with manufacturing industry experience.
• Experience working with inventory, including variance analysis, excess and obsolete inventory review, and physical inventory.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX.
• Experience and success working in a multi-team environment
• Project management skills demonstrated through effective work habits, inter-personal skills, initiative, follow-through, and adherence to deadlines. Requires organization and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Strong accounting, review, analysis, and reporting skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
• Ability to critically think and solve problems that deal with a variety of variables
• Competent computer skills needed to prepare and perform analysis. Strong Excel skills
• SAP experience preferred. Baan or Hyperion (HFM) experience a plus
