Senior Data Analyst

Position Information:

BreakForth Solutions is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support our client in the management of data and coordination with stakeholders to collect data. Experience in IT organizations and business intelligence, data analysis, data warehousing, data integration, and data science preferred.

Essential Functions

• Serve as a data manager/liaison for our technical team, helping product stakeholders to submit data to the project database, explaining the data fields, and working to provide the necessary output to decision-makers regarding the data collected.
• Perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data. Analyze and interpret large amounts of data.
• Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets could be helpful for diagnosis and prediction.
• Find outside/publicly available datasets to vet received data.
• Prepare reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
• Work with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
• Support the creation, revision, and enforcement of data management policies.
• Support the development of techniques that allow for the collection of accurate data.
• Analyze and interpret large amounts of data.

Education/Skills/Experience Requirements:

• Over 10 years of relevant experience
• Academic degrees may be substituted for years of experience (2 years of school = 1 year of experience)
• Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Proven experience managing data.
• Familiar with modern, high-tech databases and IT systems.

• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating with various partners, stakeholders, or customers on the value of statistical and data science methods, including but not limited to the strength of models/formulas, their limitations, warnings, and weaknesses in various applications.
• Demonstrated experience embracing and participating in a culture of knowledge sharing to broaden the understanding of:

• advanced methods or
• niche statistical methods and
• data science analytic methods and
• coding techniques to include a fundamental understanding of model/formula strength, limitations, warnings, and weaknesses when applied in various scenarios.
