About This Job

This position is responsible for supporting the identification, evaluation, planning, and delivery of large, enterprise-scale projects for the Consumer Credit organization. The Senior Data Analyst assists in the development of a corporate business intelligence and data analytics environment that enables stakeholders to acquire customers, analyze the effectiveness of business operations, improve customer satisfaction, and comply with information requests from regulatory agencies. This position provides portfolio reporting to business stakeholders and support department management, and utilizes data mining, report design, marketing research, and data analysis that help the business make decisions with strategy development and portfolio management.

Essential Functions

• Support the development of strategic business solutions through reporting and analysis
• Complete analysis to initiate projects and recommend appropriate solutions and best practices to accomplish strategic objectives
• Ensure anticipated future needs can be easily and appropriately incorporated into design structures
• Perform activities related to leading the department's resources; assist management with establishing and delivering departmental goals
• Mentor less tenured staff to achieve high quality analysis and business relevance
• Ensure project delivery and activity deadlines are met through active monitoring, risk management, and reprioritization
• Actively participate in key corporate and divisional projects as the group's representative
• Partner with assigned IT project managers to support delivery of projects with effective monitoring and control processes
• Develop and monitor project work plans and allocation/expenditure of resources
• Manage all tasks on assigned projects in a timely, accurate manner
• Recommend the addition of tasks if appropriate and beneficial to the project
• Consult with IT, data stewards, and business clients to evaluate, design, implement, and maintain enterprise databases and Business Objects universes
• Constantly perform data and/or technology needs gap assessment
• Analyze system and database documentation to develop knowledge, identify business and processing requirements, and determine solutions
• Identify appropriate data sources, utilize suitable tools and delivery mechanisms, create and maintain documentation, and constructs/comprehends data diagrams
• Write database programming code (SQL) to examine, extract, analyze, and test data
• Respond to requests for ad-hoc data profiling/analysis and reporting
• Assist in validation and testing of new database architectures to ensure proper fit with business needs
• Create reports, universes, and analytic work products using business intelligence (BI) tools to satisfy business needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Strong proficiency with data analysis/business intelligence tools (e.g. Business Objects, SAS, PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, etc.)
• Moderate level proficiency using project portfolio management systems (Primavera, Planview, etc.)
• General understanding of data governance processes and common functions
• Strong informal leadership skills and the ability to work independently as well as lead cross-functional teams
• Strong project management, business analysis, and work process development skills
• Strong data modeling, data warehousing, and data mining/analysis skills
• Strong analytical, organizational planning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into terms that business constituencies can readily understand

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• 8+ years of data management, data analysis, business intelligence or related experience required
• 3+ years of work experience in business analysis or project management required
• Experience with statistical modeling or predictive analysis preferred
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification preferred
