Senior Data Analytics Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Senior Data Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic team.
We are in the middle of building a highly scalable data platform for our customer, a leading asset management firm and hedge fund. In supporting our client, we require additional data analysts to support our Standardized data pipeline products and related services (e.g. data profiling, data analysis). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in basic statistical analysis, and exploratory data analysis, data profiling, coupled with expertise in utilizing diverse data sources and formats, including databases, FTP servers, and various file types. Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, is highly preferred. This position requires exceptional communication skills as it involves interacting directly with clients to understand their analytical needs and deliver actionable insights. Experience in the Finance / Asset Management domain is also preferred.

The remote option applies only to the Candidates who will be working from any location in Ukraine.

Responsibilities

• Integrate data from multiple sources including databases, FTP servers, and files of different formats to create unified datasets for analysis
• Conduct comprehensive data profiling to understand data quality, structure, completeness, and relationships within datasets
• Design, build, and optimize scalable data processing systems and pipelines, ensuring efficient data transformation
• Engage with clients to understand their requirements, present analysis findings, and provide actionable insights tailored to their needs
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex data challenges and provide innovative solutions
• Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in data analysis, and proactively seek opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

• Expertise with programming languages such as Python for data analysis and manipulation
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation from databases
• Experience as a Data Analyst-Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing data analysis projects
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS services such as S3, Glue, EMR, and Athena
• Experience working with various data formats and sources, including databases, FTP servers, and files (e.g., CSV, Excel, JSON, XML)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Self-starter with high level of ownership
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively
• Experience in client-facing roles is a plus, especially in Finance / Asset Management domains

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Airflow and Snowflake
• Experience or interest in Financial Markets, Financial Instruments, Trading
