Job Overview

As a Senior Developer on the Business Intelligence and Data Engineering team, you will help build and operate best-in-class data platform supporting the internal and external reporting and business intelligence capabilities. In addition to providing operational coverage for the day-to-day functioning and resiliency of the data platform, you will be a key contributor in influencing and shaping our organization's data, reporting, and analytics strategy

Job Responsibilities

• Design and build data ingestion and transformation processes based on reporting and analytic projects.
• Provide monitoring, performance tuning, and break-fix support for existing data ingestion pipelines.
• Collaborate with internal customers on gathering requirements and designing data movement and reporting solutions for complex reporting, analytic needs, and growth initiatives.
• Stay current of advanced data platform technologies and drive innovation by engaging the team and internal customers in building POC's and new patterns for solving data and reporting challenges
• Serve as proactive change agent, helping to identify and implement opportunities for improvement of the data platform through automation, increased data quality, and platform stability.
• Write queries, views, and stored procedures to satisfy company reporting & external client needs; review and optimize code for efficiency, consistency, and production readiness.
• Perform ad-hoc reporting requests and data research for projects as needed.
• Provide training and best practices in using the data platform tools and data.
• Mentor and coach teammates

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant 3+ years development experience utilizing a wide range of Microsoft technologies
• 3+ years of data analysis and development experience with business intelligence tools (Azure Data Factory, Logic Apps, Python and/or C#).
• 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), building database queries, stored Procedure writing and report creation (SSIS & SSAS experience strongly preferred).
• 3+ years of experience developing quality data visualizations for various business units.

Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience
• Working knowledge of table indexing, storage methodologies, CTEs, table variables, temporary tables, window functions data segmentation, query optimization, and code review for production deployment readiness.
• Strong understanding of data visualization concepts and best practices.
• Ability and desire to learn and implement new data platform technologies and evaluate additional tools that could advance the data platform and Business Intelligence capabilities at AvidXchange.
• Experience with development & production support of PowerBI dashboards and Microsoft Data Platform.
