Senior Data Scientist, Marketing Analytics

This role is eligible for our five-day flex office work model.

From search engine optimization to branding and promotions, our Marketing team is the expert at spreading the Priceline message far and wide - capturing the hearts and imaginations of customers to get them to try our services, and keep them coming back for more.

Why this job's a big deal:

You will take ownership of developing new approaches to optimizing our spend, generate significant business impact, and craft the direction of machine learning initiatives. You will be responsible for idea generation through feature engineering, training and tuning to live running of the models as well as coaching and collaborating with other Data Scientist, Engineers and Product teams and Partners themselves. This is a high profile role which has a direct impact on our top-line business performance and cost.

In this role you will get to:

• Oversee numerous high profile placements such as Google Hotel Ads, Kayak, TripAdvisor. Trivago etc.
• Regularly bid on over 1 billion auctions constantly refining our learning and adjusting to market conditions or new information.
• Process a number of challenges from building componentized prediction models, dealing with data sparsity, data engineering through to production scaling at a reduced cost.

Who you are:

• 5+ years experience working with data and advanced analytics with excellent numerical reasoning
• 2+ years experience in digital marketing
• Direct demonstrable experience designing, engineering and implementing Machine Learning approaches as well as AB Testing and optimization.
• Experienced driving product development, analytics and AB Testing
• Excellent understanding and experience with R and/or Python
• Strong knowledge of big data tools such as BigQuery
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to explain complex models simply and persuade senior management.
• Intellectual curiosity and a passion for learning
• Impact focused work ethic, always aiming to make a difference for our customers
• Team Player, take responsibility for performance everywhere.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Travel industry experience is a plus

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

The salary range for this position is $135,000-$160,000 USD
