Job Description Your Career As aSenior Data Security Competitive Test Analystat Palo Alto Networks, you will play a critical role in defining how ourData Securitycapabilities perform against competitors—both in real-world scenarios and across targeted benchmark testing. You’ll be responsible fortesting, analyzing, and reporting on data protection capabilitiesacross inline and API-based DLP, data classification, SaaS security, and structured/unstructured data flows—using hands-on tools, custom-built test harnesses, and third-party validation frameworks. This is ahands-on technical rolethat blendsdeep product knowledge, competitive research, and strategic influence.Your work will shape product decisions, strengthen our positioning in the market, and empower the field with credible, data-backed insights. Your Impact • Build and operate a dedicateddata security test lab, spanning SaaS apps, inline DLP, email security, and cloud data channels • Design and executecompetitive test plansfocused on: • Sensitive data detection (structured & unstructured) • Inline DLP efficacy across web, email, SaaS • Shadow IT & SaaS risk coverage • Data classification and policy enforcement • File movement, content inspection, and contextual tagging • Use tools such asandcustom harnesses, traffic generators, and third-party SaaS environmentsto simulate realistic data leakage scenarios • Generatebenchmarking reports and dashboardshighlighting comparative coverage, policy accuracy, false positive/negative rates, and data visibility • Collaborate withProduct Management, Engineering, and Threat Researchto identify competitive gaps and recommend mitigation strategies • Translate findings into actionablecompetitive intelligence—including battlecards, whitepapers, sales enablement decks, and internal FAQs • SupportSales and Field teamswith deep-dive technical insights on data security differentiation, including customer-facing escalations • Stay informed onemerging trends in data security, including AI-driven DLP, data sovereignty, and evolving regulatory frameworks Qualifications Your Experience • 3–7 years of experience insecurity testing, QA, DLP, or competitive analysis • Strong understanding ofdata protection technologies(e.g., DLP, CASB, SaaS security, classification engines) • Experience with testing tools (e.g.,CyPerf, BreakingPoint, Metasploit, custom traffic generators) • Familiarity withdata security use casesacross M365, Google Workspace, Box, Salesforce, etc. • Proven ability todesign test plans,analyze results, and generate meaningful reports • Strong technical writing andpresentation skills—you should be comfortable turning test data into actionable sales and product content • Ability to work cross-functionally withengineering, PM, marketing, and field teams Nice to Have • Knowledge of Palo Alto NetworksEnterprise DLP, SaaS Security Posture Management (SSPM), Prisma Access, or Enterprise Browser • Prior experience withthird-party test labsor public data security benchmarks • Familiarity withGRC, compliance standards,and regional data handling requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) Additional Information The Team To stay ahead of the curve, it’s critical to know where the curve is, and how to anticipate the changes we’re facing. Compensation Disclosure The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $134,000 - $215,500/YR.
