Summary
The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the enterprise level SQL and Oracle Databases of SDI as well as for our clients. This encompasses on-prem and cloud database environments. performance tuning, Database High Availability design and implementation, and T-SQL, PLSQL/Perl/shell programming. The Database Administrator is responsible for tasks such as the development of best practices, repeatable procedures, as well as day-to-day database activities. This is a remote opportunity.

Compensation Notice
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130k/year in our lowest geographic market up to $150k/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. SDI Presence LLC is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.

Summary
The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the enterprise level SQL and Oracle Databases of SDI as well as for our clients. This encompasses on-prem and cloud database environments. performance tuning, Database High Availability design and implementation, and T-SQL, PLSQL/Perl/shell programming. The Database Administrator is responsible for tasks such as the development of best practices, repeatable procedures, as well as day-to-day database activities. This is a remote opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Stand up scalable SQL and Oracle instance and databases from scratch for on-prem and cloud environments
- Secure the Databases using best practices such as at rest database encryption, strong authentication, user management and data access control
- Ensure high-availability of databases and use of disaster recovery solutions such as fail-over environment, partitioning, failover clusters, Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), use of caching, standard hard disk drives, solid-state drives, and ultra-disks.
- Ability to design and manage storage requirements for volume and performance
- Data Model planning and development with development teams
- Design, debug implement, and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions.
- Assists development team on optimizing and troubleshooting queries
- Create and manage database documentation
- Supporting Data Conversions teams with source data
- Working with multiple project implementation teams to support varying amounts of data needs
- Closely working with other DBAs, application administrators, development teams, and test teams to define requirements and develop solutions to complex problems
- Perform database upgrades to new release levels
- Monitor database activity for performance and security. Setup alerts and notifications.
Requirements:
- Strong experience with scripting for replicate, pump, and trail files
- Minimum 3 years of overall IT delivery of enterprise databases architecture projects such as SQL Server and Oracle database infrastructure design, builds, upgrades, migrations, support, and performance tuning database administrative experience
- Initial extracts/replicate from other databases such as DB2 for large data volume in millions of rows
- Implementing restart, logging, error handling and notification
- Support Data Conversion teams with source data
- Project implementation and experience supporting multiple teams with data
- Working with Oracle on SRs for critical issues
- Strong oral and written communication skills along with problem solving skills
- Understanding and working knowledge of service tickets, incidents in Azure DevOps, JIRA, and Service Now tools
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL Server T-SQL and Oracle PL/SQL and SQL including performance tuning, debugging, complex SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, functions, and cursors
- Experience as Oracle RAC DBA
- Experience with ExaCS is a plus
- Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS and Oracle Data Integrator is a plus
